Centre should intervene in Nandigram issue: Jaya
Chennai, Nov 15 (UNI) AIADMK Supremo J Jayalalithaa today said the Centre should intervene if the West Bengal government does not control the violence in Nandigram.
Talking to newspersons here, she said ''it is unfortunate and very sad to see the violence in Nandigram''.
''If it is not possible for that government to control the violence, the Centre should intervene'', she added.
Reiterating her opposition to the Indo-US nuke deal, she said ''this deal is not necessary. It is bad for the country as India will go under foreign control''.
''We have all resources and India is self-reliant. So this deal is not necessary'', she added.
Ms Jayalalithaa also predicted a mid-term poll to Lok Sabha.
''Though a temporary truce has been worked out between the Congress and the Left parties on the nuke deal, I expect snap polls for Parliament. I have an inkling that there will be a mid-term poll'', she added.
