BJP Soldiers Cell welcomes sops to Gallatnry Award recipents

Dehradun, Nov 15 (UNI) Uttarakhand Bharatiya Janata Party Sainik Prakosth has welcomed the BJP government's announcement to increase the amount given to various Gallantry Award winners of the state, a party release said today.

State President of Sainik Prakosth Colonel (Retd) P D Kudiyal said it would benefit about 576 Galantry Award winners in the state.

Uttarakhand has now become the only state in the country to provide such a huge amount to its soldiers, he said, adding this would enhance the spirit of both active as well retired soldiers. He maintained that the decision would also boost youths in joining the defence forces.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Maj Gen (Retd) Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri had on Tuesday announced the enhancement in the amount provided to the Gallantry Award recipients of the state.
