Lucknow, Nov 14 (UNI) The Uttar Padesh government have decided to appoint 438 lecturers on contract basis in government run colleges and to run the second phase of State Agriculture Diversification Project in 38 districts.
The decision was taken in the State Cabinet meeting here today, which was chaired by Chief Minister Mayawati.
Under the contract basis, these new lecturers would get a monthly payment of Rs 8000 for three years.
In another major decision, the government approved the second phase of State Agricutlure Diversification Project in 38 districts with cost of Rs 869 crore.
The first phase of the project, which started on September 1998 and ended on March 31,2004, covered 157 development blocks of 32 districts, where the crop production had increased by 10 per cent due to this project.
In another decision, the government changed the name of the workers under the National Rural Employment Gurantee Scheme (NERGS) from Panchayat Mitra to Gram Rozgar Sevek.
Now these workers could only be engaged for the work under the NERGS projects.
