New Delhi, Nov 14 (UNI) Leading IT services and telecom solutions provider Tech Mahindra today said it will set up of a software development centre at Chandigarh with an investment of Rs 200 crore.
''This integrated campus at the Rajiv Gandhi Technology Park will be built on 15 acres of land and seat 5000 professionals, entailing an investment of Rs 200 crore in two phases,'' said Governor of Punjab Gen (Retd) SF Rodrigues.
The campus will seat 2,500 professionals in the first phase, and house 5,000 when fully complete, offering video conferencing facilities, training centres, food courts, an amphitheatre, recreation facilities, a swimming pool, a gymnasium and a sports complex.
''We have chosen Chandigarh because of its rapidly developing infrastructure, IT-friendly policies and access to a pool of high quality software professionals. Once completed, Chandigarh will be integral to the expansion of the company's service offerings and delivery capabilities,'' said Tech Mahindra CMD and CEO Vineet Nayyar.
We are keen to tap the local talent pool and make this centre a major hub in the region and thus participate in the techno-economic development of the state, he added.
Tech Mahindra currently employs over 600 IT professionals at its Chandigarh Development centre.
