Severe cyclonic storm 'Sidr' likely to intensify
Visakhapatnam, Nov 14 (UNI) The severe cyclonic storm 'Sidr' over Southeast Bay and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal moved further northwards today and lay centered over Southeast and west Bay of Bengal about 480 km northeast of Port Blair.
A spokesperson of the Cyclone Warning Centre (CWC) here said the system is likely to intensify further and move in north-northwesterly direction.
Under its influence isolated heavy rains and squall are likely over Orissa and West Bengal coast this morning.
The Distant Warning Signal No 2 was hoisted at Visakhapatnam, Machilipatnam, Krishnapatnam and Nizamapatnam ports and section signal No 5 was hoisted at Kakinada port, he added.
