Sriganganagar, Nov 14 (UNI) The district administration has imposed a ban on Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's entry in Budherwali village, where he plans to hold a religious congregation ''Satsang'' on November 18.

Prohibitory orders under section 144 have also been promulgated in the village in view of the proposed programme District Collector Bhawani Singh Detha said.

The steps were taken to avert possibilities of a clash between the Dera followers and Panthic Sikhs, the collector said.

Mr Detha said two senior police officials were sent to the Dera headquarters in Hisar town of neighbouring state Haryana two days ago to convey to the functionaries the administration's decision and to advise them to put off the congregation 'Satsang'.

However, the functionaries have so far not cancelled the programme.

Meanwhile, the Dera Chief arrived in his native village-Gurusar Modiya in this district yesterday for a three- day sojourn.

Precautionary security arrangments have been made for his visit.
