Rs 126 cr spent on BPL families, rural development
Chandigarh, Nov 14 (UNI) Funds worth Rs 126.47 crore have so far been spent for the welfare of below poverty line (BPL) families and for creation of community assets or infrastructure in the villages of Haryana.
Stating this, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Rural Development and Panchayats Department) Urvashi Gulati said more than 3,700 houses had been constructed for houseless families and 2,914 houses were under progress in the state under Indira Award Yojna.
Besides, Income generating assets to 7,567 BPL families had been provided to ensure self employment.
She said development work in 1,237 projects had been undertaken.
