Quick Reaction Teams formed in Kodagu district

Madikeri, Karnataka, Nov 14 (UNI) The Kodagu District Police has formed three Quick Reaction Teams (QRT) which will tackle any kind of crime being reported in the District, Superintendent of Police Dr Trilokchandra said today.

Talking to UNI here, he said that the QRT was stationed in Somwarpet, Virajpet and Madikeri Taluks.

He said that whoever calls the Control room to inform about crime, the QRT will rush to the spot, wasting no time. The team cannot be equipped with mobile phones since there are many silent zones in Kodagu, inaccessible to mobile phones and hence the control room will have contact through wireless.

Mr Trilokchandra said that QRT was equipped with enough weapons and four police personnel to tackle the situations. The team could reach the spot even before a local police reach there, he added.
