PM to inaugurate ISC-2008
Tirupati, Nov 14 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will inaugurate the 95th Indian Science Congress-2008 (ISC) to be held at Andhra University in Visakhapatnam from January three to seven, 2008.
Speaking at a press conference, ISC General President R Ramamurthi today said about 250 scientists from across the world were expected to participate in the ISC.
Mr Ramamurthi said Scientific Advisor R Chidambaram, Nobel Laureates Dr Roger Kornberg and Dr Paul Nurse, and eminent agriculture scientist M S Swaminathan were invited for the Congress.
President Pratiba Patil would inaugurate the First National Virtual Contre on 'Mahila Kisan' on January five during the session.
It would hold deliberations on agriculture and forestry sciences, animal, veterinary and fishery sciences and anthropological and behavioural sciencies.
