Mirwaiz Hurriyat for Kashmir resolution without wasting time
Srinagar, Nov 14 (UNI) The moderate Hurriyat Conference, led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, today condemned the alleged ''acts of state terrorism and human rights violations'' in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement here, the moderate Hurriyat also urged India to settle the long-standing Kashmir issue without wasting anymore time.
In a statement here, a Hurriyat spokesman claimed that troops had ''plundered and destroyed'' the properties of locals in Sopore, Dooru, Pattan, Pulwama and Shalimar areas of the Kashmir valley.
''India only will be responsible for deterioration of situation in the area if such acts of state terrorism continue. With brute use of force, India will not be able to suppress the voices of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,'' he added.
The spokesman said the people were raising the voices for their ''legitimate right of self-determination.'' ''Without the resolution of the sixty-year old Kashmir issue peace in South Asia will remain a distant dream,'' he added.
