Ministry of Water Resources to participate in ITF

New Delhi, Nov 14 (UNI) The Ministry of Water Resources is participating in the fortnight-long 27th Edition of Indian International Trade Fair and has raised a pavilion where water-related models are being displayed under the theme 'Water Year 2007'.

Minister for Water Resources Prof Saifuddin Soz will inaugurate the Pavilion while his ministerial deputy Jai Prakash Narain Yadav and Ms Gauri Chatterjee, Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, and senior officers of the Ministry will be present on the occasion.

The water-related models indicating various aspects of water, including its various uses, forms, sources will be on the display in the pavilion. Various arms of the Ministry like Central Water Commission, Central Ground Water Board, Central Soil and Material Research station, Central Water Power Research Station, National Institute of Hydrology, Water and Power Consultancy Services, National Projects Construction Corporation Limited, National Water Development Agency will be exhibit its models and disseminate information about their achievements.

With a view to attracting younger generation, specially children, street plays to stress the needs for conservation of water through music and dance shows will be performed. The modern techniques of communication, including the usage of plasma TV, will also be the highlight of the experiment to emphasise the effects of Rainwater Harvesting and Artificial Recharge.

The fair, organised by India Trade Promotion Organisation, will culminate on November 27, 2007.
