Minister denies privatisation of bus services
Chennai, Nov 14 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Transport Minister K N Nehru today denied PMK founder leader S Ramadoss' charge that the state government was planning to privatise the inter-state bus services.
In a statement here, he said reports cited by the PMK leader in this regard were untrue.
There was no such proposal with the government and it would not take such a decision, Mr Nehru said.
At a press conference in Coimbatore yesterday, Dr Ramadoss, quoting media reports, said the government's move to privatise the inter-state bus services was totally unnecessary and urged the government to shelve it.
The PMK, part of the DMK-led DPA in the state and extending outside support to the DMK government, opposed various projects that included airport expansion, titanium project, setting up of SEZs and development of satellite townships.
