Patna, Nov 14 (UNI) Bihar Vigilance Bureau today filed a chargesheet against State Marketing Board's former Managing Director K P Sinha in connection with amassing assets disproportionate to his known source of income.
State vigilance sources here said a case was registered against Mr Sinha on the basis of recovery of assets during a raid by Income Tax department at his Patna residence recently.
The value of recovered assets was found to be Rs 3.73 crores in excess than what was mentioned in 'income tax return' filed by him.
''The IT sleuths recovered Rs 20 lakh in cash from his residence besides huge amount of jewellery from lockers in various banks across the country,'' sources added.
The chargesheet was filed in the Patna special vigilance court, Deputy Police Superintendent Rajnandan Prasad said.
Mr Sinha had served as Samastipur and Khagaria district magistrate of before retiring from service as Managing Director of Bihar State Marketing Board in 1995.
