Bihar govt sanctions Rs 2.44 crore for social security schemes
Patna, Nov 14 (UNI) The Bihar government has sanctioned Rs 2.44 crore for execution of various social security schemes in the current fiscal.
State Cabinet secretary Girish Shankar said here today the amount had been sanctioned from the contingency fund and 16,26,000 befeficiaries would be covered under the national old age pension scheme, Lakshibai social security pension scheme, Bihar state disability social security pension scheme and others.
He said all the schemes would be implemented in the current fiscal and the pension funds would be distributed among the beneficiaries shortly.
Mr Shankar further said the state government had also sanctioned Rs ten lakh for payment of ex-gratia at the rate of Rs one lakh each to all the victims of the Dhelporwa lynching incident in Vaishali district.
Earlier, ten people where lynched in Dhelphorwa village under Rajapakar police station in Vaishali district on September 13 this year.
Meanwhile, the state government had given a festival bonanza to its employees as the Cabinet, during the meeting last night, also sanctioned the proposal to enhance the first installment of vehicle advance from Rs 2.50 lakh to Rs five lakh and the second installment has been increased from Rs 1.60 lakh to Rs four lakh.
