NBCC turnover is Rs 1514 crore for 2006-07

New Delhi, Nov 13 (UNI) The National Buildings Construction Corporation Ltd (NBCC) has recorded a turnover of Rs 1514 crore for the financial year 2006-07, hence becoming one of the biggest public sector undertaking.

Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy gave this information to the Parliamentary Consultative Committee attached to his Ministry which met here today.

Mr Reddy said NBCC while improving its performance consistently, paid back maiden dividend to the Government.

NBCC today has an order book of more than 5,000 crores against a meager 300 crores five years ago and is now looking forward to achieving a turn over of 4,500 crores by the year 2010-11 as per their new corporate plan, he said.

Besides NBCC has also embarked upon schemes like affordable housing, low cost housing technology, and diversified into Real Estates and Power Projects etc, the Minister added.
