Lucknow, Nov 13 (UNI) Aiming to promote various rural development programmes on employment, health and poverty of the Centre, a countrywide 'Bharat Nirman Jan Suchna Abhiyan' has been initiated.
As many as 100 'abhiyans' have been kickstarted across the country by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) of the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry.
Assistance of directorate of regional promotion, music and drama division would also be sought, besides several media centres, including All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan (DD).
'Bharat Nirman Jan Suchna Abhiyan' in charge and regional promotion director Arimardan Singh told newspersons here today, ''several programmes have already been initiated under the 'abhiyan' in Azamgarh and Fatehpur districts.'' An awareness is being created among common man about National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), National Rural Health Mission, Right to Information Act and Primary Education Scheme through singing, essay and question-answers contests, under the 'abhiyan', he informed.
The 'abhiyan' would soon be set in motion at Unnao, Sitapur and Jalaun districts.
