HCL enters into strategic partnership with CA Inc
New Delhi, Nov 13 (UNI) Leading offshore IT and software development firm HCL Technologies Ltd (HCL) today said it has signed an agreement to establish a strategic partnership, where HCL will conduct all research and product development for CA Inc's threat management security business.
''While CA Inc will retain all sales and marketing functions, HCL will conduct all research and product development,'' a statement said.
The partnership will allow CA's threat management business growth.Both the companies together will achieve goal alignment and financial targets through revenue sharing. The annual revenue of CA's threat management security business is in excess of 100 million dollars.
''The partnership covers all threat management products, which include anti-virus, anti-spy ware, integrated threat manager (ITM), host-based intrusion prevention system (HIPS), secure content manager(SCM), internet security suite, anti-spam and firewall,'' the statement added.
HCL will be responsible for research, engineering, architecture, technical support, technical writing, and quality assurance.
CA's threat management products will continue to be sold exclusively under the CA brand and through several routes to market with a growing emphasis on channel partners.
The partnership is expected to become operational by the year-end, following the signing of a definitive agreement.
