Ghulzarbagh rly stn to be named Azimabad railway station
Patna, Nov 13 (UNI) Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today directed railway authorities for initiating necessary action to rechristen the Ghulzarbagh railway station as Azimabad railway station after the noted academician Shad Azimabadi.
Giving the directions to the railway authorities, Mr Prasad told a visiting delegation of minorities that a train service 'Azimabadi Express' is already running. Mr Prasad further said that he was personally in favour of changing the name of the state capital Patna as 'Azimabad'.
The delegation, comprising RJD MP Ramkripal Yadav, Chairman of Islamiya Trust Arif Raza and several other dignitories of minorities called on Mr Prasad during the day and urged him to change the name of Ghulzarbagh railway station to Azimabad after noted 'Shayar' Shad Azimabadi, a litterateur of Urdu, Arbi, Hindi and Sanskrit languages.
Assuring the delegation of fulfilling their demand, Mr Prasad said that Mr Azimabadi promoted both Urdu and Hindi languages and had strived for the harmony in the society.
