Mizoram
Pradesh
Congress
today
charged
Chief
Minister
Zoramthanga
with
restricting
the
CBI
from
doing
its
work
in
the
state.
Congress' reaction came after Chief Minister Zoramthanga allegedly made a remark saying it was the Lal Thanhawla-led Congress ministry which had refused to let in the investigating agency to Mizoram.
Congress party spokesman R Vanlalvena today alleged the MNF ministry on July 15, 2002, had issued an order and directed the CBI to get a prior permission from the state government to take up any case. ''From then on, the CBI sought permissions after permissions from the state government which finally resulted in closing down its office here October 7, 2005,'' he pointed out.
