Chennai, Nov 12 (UNI) Dr M K Vishnu Prasad, MLA and son of TNCC President M Krishnaswamy, today filed an anticipatory bail plea in the Madras High Court, apprehending arrest in connection with yesterday's stabbing of Tamil Nadu Youth Congress President Mayura S Jayakumar at the party headquarters here.
The petition would come up for hearing before Judge Suthanthiram tomorrow.
In his petition, Dr Vishnu submitted that he had no connection whatsoever with the stabbing of the State Youth Congress Chief and contended that police had registered a ''false'' FIR against him.
Mr Jayakumar, a staunch loyalist of Union Minister G K Vasan, and two others sustained injuries, when they were stabbed by a 20-member armed gang at his Chamber yesterday. The attack was led by ''Saidai'' Williams, said to be close to Dr Vishnu Prasad.
Mr Jayakumar's decision to expel six functionaries, owing allegiance to the group headed by Dr Vishnu, for their ''inactive'' role in the party, was said to be the reason behind the attack.
Police after holding an inquest, filed an FIR against 19 people and arrested Williams and his aide Mohan last night. Dr Vishnu Prasad was cited as the prime accused and Williams as the second accused.
