festival
of
Diwali
is
synonymous
with
long,
sumptuous,
elaborate
feasts,
the
preparations
for
which
begin
several
days
in
advance.
No
expense
is
spared,
and
everybody
buys
the
best
sweets,
snacks
and
savouries.
The preparing, consuming and giving of sweets are a significant facet of the festival. But with this comes the health woes that one has to suffer, as an aftermath. The idea is not to avoid sweets entirely, but to keep a check on how many one is consuming.
