UCO Bank loot case: one arrested

Rourkela, Nov 12 (UNI) Police have arrested one person from West Bengal's Asansol for his alleged involvement in the Rourkela UCO Bank dacioty case, in which Rs 35 lakh was looted.

On interrogation of Mobin Khan, king pin of an Inter State dacoit gang, Mahmed Sahanawaz alias Chhottu Khan, residing in Keonjhar, was arrested and produced before a local court here which remanded him to judicial custody yesterday.

Armed miscreants had looted Rs 35 lakh from the UCO Bank here on September 28 last, police said.

Mobin Khan, who was arrested about 20 days back by Bokaro police had given the tips to the police about the involvement of Sahanawaz in UCO Bank dacoity.

Police said the Mobin gang allegedly involved in a dozen of Bank dacoity and loot in Bihar and Jhaarkhand, had committed the dacoity at UCO Bank.

Though police have already identified the gang, six of them are still absconding and the looted amount is yet to be recovered. The police, however, have recovered a pistol and two live cartridges from the possession of Sahanawaz.
