Lucknow, Nov 12 (UNI) Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar today took out some time to visit a school for differentially abled children in the state capital and interacted with them.
The Pakistani speedster spent around 20 minutes with the children at the Chetna Sansthan, saying, ''it feels good, when you spend time with such good and lovely kids.'' '' Mujhe Yahan aah kar apnapan mahsoos ho raha hai'' (I am feeling very close to these children), he told the reporters.
''I also have the moral duty to serve these kids and now, I find myself closely attached to them,'' he noted.
Reffering to Indian Tennis Sensentional Sania Mirza, who was in Chandigarh recently, when both of them attented a similar at school of the physical challenged children, Shoaib said ''I had also asked Sania to come to Lucknow and visit Chetna Sansthan and do something for them.'' ''Sania is presently busy in Chandigarh so she could not make it,'' he later commented.
During the brief interaction with the deaf and dumb children, the cricketer also tried to give full attention to all their waving and laughing and even sat around them.
In return, the children presented Shoaib several gifts, mostly soft toys.
Earlier, Sahara Parivar director Kumkum Roy Choudhury welcomed the speedster at the Chetna Sansthan.
