Set up new non-Political Committee on Ram Sethu: VHP

Coimbatore, Oct 12 (UNI) Rameswaram Ramsethu Protection Movement (RRPM), National General Secretary and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Working President S Vedantham today demanded that the Centre, form a new non-Political Committee comprising scientists to prove the existence of mythical 'Ram Sethu'.

Talking to newspersons after the State Executive Committee meeting here, he said the present Committee on the 'Ram Sethu'formed by the Centre was 'political and bipartisan'. The meeting decided to conduct ''Rathyatra and processions'' to create awareness among the people to protect the monument.

Mr Vedantham said the meeting also urged the Union Government to declare the Adam's Bridge as a national monument.

Hindu Munnani leader and RRPM State Working President Rama Gopalan, Perur Adheenam Pontiff and Marudachala Adigalar were also present in the meeting.
