PM Manmohan meets Putin for bilateral relations

Moscow, Nov 12: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today held extensive talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on bilateral ties as well as international developments.

According to official sources, the two leaders reviewed the progress in bilateral relations in various fields including defence, space and energy during their one-on-one meeting.

The two leaders were later joined by their respective delegations at the meeting, held at the Kremlin. Earlier, the Prime Minister laid a wreath at the Tomb of the 'Unknown Soldier'. Dr Singh also met his Russian counterpart Viktor Zubkov.

The two countries are scheduled to sign four agreements including one on the co-development and co-production of the Fifth Generation Fighter and the Multi-Role Transport Aircraft.

The two leaders will also address a joint press conference. Later the Russian leader will host a banquet in honour of Dr Singh and his wife Gursharan Kaur.
