Left partners in Tripura criticised CPI-M on Nandigram violence
Agartala, Nov 12 (UNI) Besides opposition Congress and Trinomool Congress, Left Front constituents- RSP and Forward Block - in Tripura today criticised CPI (M) on Nandigram issue in West Bengal.
RSP state chief Sudarshan Bhattacharjee said the CPI (M) was responsible for the present situation in Nandigram. He said the CPI(M) had complicated the situation at Nandigram as the party had not discussed the volatile issues with other front members.
"We don't believe that industrial development in Nandigram would require in such a situation", said Mr Bhattacharjee adding that West Bengal has not yet acquired the position to convert agricultural land for industrial purpose because since independence agriculture is still the economic base of eastern India.
Forward Block central committee member Shyamal Roy also reacted in the similar line and stated that CPI (M) did a blunder in Nandigram and the party alone would face the consequences.
Meanwhile, opposition Congress and Trinomool Congress have organised protest rallies today against continuous violence in Nandigram.
