Dubai, Nov 12 (UNI) Two Indians have gone on trial for allegedly trying to sell two women for 10,000 Dirham (Rs one lakh) after forcing them to have sex with men behind closed doors for a month.

The Public Prosecution Department charged a 34-year-old Indian named SF and his 36-year-old driver, FN, with exploiting the two housemaids, a 23-year-old Bangladeshi MR and a 29-year-old Indonesian ES, and forcing them to sleep with men for money.

However, the accused have denied the charges.

They were also charged with offering the victims for sale for 10,000 Dh. The suspects were additionally charged with illegally detaining the women in a flat, threatening and beating them up to have sex with men.

''An informant alerted us that SF was planning to sell the housemaids for 10,000Dh. As part of a sting operation, we arranged to buy the victims for 9,000 Dh in the Al Hamriya area. The suspect moved the girls from a tinted minivan to an unmarked police car after which an undercover police team raided the place and arrested the two suspects," Gulf News quoted police as saying.

The victims claimed, in their statements, they worked in the UAE for 18 months as maids before absconding from their sponsors.
