Government ready to discuss Nandigram issue in Parliament
New Delhi, Nov 12 (UNI) The Government is not averse of having discussion on Nandigram in the coming winter session of Parliament, Parliamentary Affairs Minister P R Dasmunsi said here today.
Talking to mediapersons, Mr Dasmunsi said deployment of the CRPF at Nandigram did not allow the issue to be confined as a State law and order subject. The issue could be raised in Parliament for discussion, subject to the approval of the Lok Sabha Speaker.
Responding to questions about National Security Advisor M K Narayanan declaring that Maoists were involved in Nandigram violence, Mr Dasmunshi said, ''I am from Bengal and my roots are there so I know what is happening there. Any how I will very soon submit my report to the Congress President Sonia Gandhi.'' The Parliamentary Affairs Minister informed that the Lok Sabha Speaker was expected to call a meeting of the leaders of all political parties on November 14 to chalkout the strategy to discuss the Indo-US Nuclear deal.
