'Festive mood' at Yaddyurappa's birth place
Mandya, Nov 12 (UNI) Villagers burst crackers and distributed sweets at Bookanakere in Karnataka, the birth place of B S Yeddyurappa, as soon as he was sworn in as the new Chief Minister of the state today.
The villagers, who were glued to the TV, watching the swearing-in ceremony held in front of the State Secretariat 'Vidhana Soudha' here, burst crackers as soon as Governor Rameshwar Thakur administered oath to Mr Yeddyurappa.
A festive mood prevailed in this tiny village with party activists, relatives and friends distributing sweets. The entire village was decorated with saffron-colour flags by the BJP workers.
The villagers were eagerly awaiting their son's visit to the village.
