CPI State Secretary arrested on land grabbing issue
Machiilpatnam, Nov 12 (UNI) The CPI State Secretary K Narayana and thousands of party workers, including 5000 women, were arrested today to prevent grabbing of 3,000 acre of coastal lands near pallethummalapalam at Bandar Mandal in Krishna district.
Talking to newspersons here, Dr Narayana alleged the State Government was not taking steps to prevent the land grabbing by mafia gangs and anti-social elements.
The Government was silent on the Supreme Court verdict to allot only 30 per cent land for Special Economic Zone in the State, he alleged.
The CPI leader said, there is a possibility of a mid-term poll for Lok Sabha after April 2008. The party was yet to decide its alliance partner, he added.
