Chennai, Nov 12 (UNI) The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) today warned the DMK Government of serious consequences if it supported the banned LTTE, and expressed serious concern over Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi condoling the recent killing of LTTE Political Chief S P Thamilchelvan.
The CLP, which adopted a resolution to this effect at its meeting here, said the Congress would never forgive or forget the LTTE, who have assassinated the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on Tamil Nadu soil.
It was surprising that the State Government and police were maintaining a stoic silence, when the pro-LTTE political parties and organisations were offering support to the banned outfit.
In the pretext of organising condolence meetings, taking out rallies and putting out posters to mourn the death of Thamilchelvan, these parties and organisations were offering open support to the LTTE.
''This is a cause for great concern,'' the resolution said and warned the government that ''this will pave way for opening the gates of violence in the state, which remained a haven of peace.'' The meeting demanded the government to take legal action or slap a ban on all political parties and outfits, which supported the LTTE.
