Panaji, Nov 12 (UNI) Coinciding with the 38th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organising a two-day conference ''India - The Big Picture'' beginning on November 22 in this Goan capital, the permanent venue of the festival since 2004.
The event is being organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Directorate of Film Festival (DFF) and the Film and Television Producers Guild Of India.
This is a part of CII's initiative to promote growth and development of India's showbiz sector and increase visibility of the cinema industry in the global market place.
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi and Secretary Asha Swarup are likely to participate in the event, according to the CII officials.
The main objective of the conference is to project India as a global platform for entertainment business and provide a business networking forum to the participants.
Some of the key areas of discussion include innovation in entertainment, digital revolution, new technologies and emergence of multi-platform distribution, new markets for Indian entertainment businesses, financing issues and business opportunities in the entertainment sector.
As many as 250 delegates including representatives from the US, UK, Singapore, West Asia, France, Canada are likely to participate.
Film producers, exhibitors, distributors, post-production companies, content providers, technician, suppliers, manufacturers and solution providers, film funding bodies, specialist film financiers, venture capitalists, consultants, analysts, lawyers, ad and public relation agencies, marketing and communication strategists, sales and acquisition agents will constitute the audience.
