New Delhi, Nov 12 (UNI) The one stop guide to Delhi--the 'Delhi Statistical Hand Book, 2007', containing latest information on various socio-economic parameters about the capital, was released here today.
The bilingual handbook, prepared by the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, was formally released by Delhi Finance and Planning Minister A K Walia at a function.
It contains information in respect of area and population, houseless population, state domestic product, climate and rainfall, vital statistics and agriculture and livestock.
It also covers Industry, Energy, Joint Stock Companies, Trade and finance, Transport and Communication, Education, Health, Labour and Employment, Cooperation, Police, Crimes and accidents.
Information about entertainment, excise, newspapers, prices, water supply and sewage disposal, economic Census, social and Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe welfare, public distribution system, poverty line, unorganised services sector, estimated number of Disabled persons, Level and Pattern of Household Consumer expenditure and Housing conditions, employment and unemployment situation has also been included in the handbook.
The statistical handbook is a very useful publication for policy makers, research workers and NGO's to have an overall idea of socio-economic development of Delhi over a period of time, said a official statement.
