Srinagar, Nov 12 (UNI) As many as 215 Haj pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir left here for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, today.

The pilgrims comprised 109 men and 105 women and one child.

The Haj flight left for Jeddah at 1845 hrs this evening, a delay of almost eight hours after the tyres of the Indian Airbus A300, with just crew on board, caught fire while landing at the Srinagar Airport this morning.

Indian would operate a single Haj flight from here for Jeddah for the first fortnight.

The pilgrims have been requested to strictly abide by the guidelines issued by the State Haj Committee to avoid any inconvenience and reach the newly-constructed Haj House at 0530 hrs.
