New Delhi, Nov 12 (UNI) The 16th National Scientific Hindi Seminar on Global Warming was organised in the capital today.
Inaugurating the Seminar, Planning Commission member V L Chopra lauded the efforts of the Ministry of Earth Sciences to popularise Hindi by organising such a seminar every year.
As many as 16 scientists and professors of various scientific and research organisations from several parts of the country participated in the Seminar and presented their papers in Hindi.
Earlier, the winners of 'Prithvi Vigyan Mantralaya Maulik Pustak Lekhan Yojana, 2007' were felicitated.
The first prize of Rs 50,000 was received jointly by Mr Shyam Sunder Sharma and Dr Rajiv Nigam for their book 'Hamari Aarthik Samridhi Ki Aadhar-Monsoon' The second prize of Rs 40,000 was given to Dr C L Garg for his book 'Prakratik Aapdayain Aur Vigyan', while the third prize of Rs 30,000 went to Dr D D Ojha, for 'Akshay Nidhi (Prithvi Aur Sagar)'.
The books will be available on the website of the Earth Sciences Ministry.
