Rs 175.39 Total Sanitation Campaign being implemented in Haryana

Chandigarh, Nov 11 (UNI) A Rs 175.39 crore Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC) is being implemented in all the 20 districts of Haryana to provide sanitary facilities to the rural people and to completely eliminate the practice of open defecation.

Stating this here yesterday, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Dharmbir Singh said under this programme individual toilets, Women sanitary complexes, school toilets, anganwari toilets, rural sanitary marts and production centers, and solid liquid waste management were constructed to make Haryana free from open defecation.

He said a sum of Rs.175.39 crore had been provided under the TSC programme which was shared jointly by the Central Government, State Government and beneficiaries.

The Central Government provided Rs 102.47 crore, the State Government Rs 40.67 crore and the beneficiaries Rs 32.26 crore. Out of these allocations, Rs 50.68 crore, Rs 27.42 crore and Rs 13.61 crore had already been released by the Centre, State and beneficiary respectively so far, he added.
