Agartala, Nov 11 (UNI) The Northeast Developments and Finance Institution (NEDFi) has decided to import Israeli technology to improve agricultural production and support the agriculturists in the Northeast, following its success in several countries.

NEDFi officials announced here today that it would initiate a long-term project with Israel and a training programme on Post-Harvest Technology in Agriculture would be organised in collaboration with the Centre for International Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Government of Israel to be held from tomorrow.

''The aim of the training programme is to train the experts in the field of agriculture about the developments in the post-harvest technology for using it in the context of the NE,'' the officials said.

The training would be conducted in two batches, comprising 20 participants each, representing all the eight states of the region, specially designed for academic and research staff of Universities, Agricultural Research Institutions and senior extension staff of the Agriculture and Horticulture department and other concerned functionaries of the region.
