Congress govt has failed to meet the people's aspirations: NCP
Shillong, Nov 11: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) today criticised the Congress-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government for its failure to meet the aspirations of the people of the state.
''The Congress government has failed to bring about development in the state, as majority of the lawmakers are highly corrupt,'' NCP Youth Wing (Meghalaya) president Aldo Sangma said.
The youth wing members of the NCP held a meeting here yesterday to gauge the achievement of the coalition government in the state over the past four years.
The Congress, which is the largest party in the 60-member House, is supported by the United Democratic Party, Meghalaya Democratic Party, Hill State People's Democratic Party, Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement and Independent MLAs.
