Chidambaram leaves for Colombo
Chennai, Nov 11: Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram today left here for Colombo to deliver the Lakshman Kadirgamar memorial lecture there on Nov 12. During his visit, Mr Chidambaram was also expected to meet Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse and Foreign Affairs Minister Rohitha Bogollagama to discuss the prevailing political situation in the aftermath of the killing of LTTE political wing leader S P Thamilchelvan on November two.
Mr Chidambaram would also take up with the authorities the frequent incidents of Sri Lankan Navy attacking Indian fishermen on the high seas.
After delivering the Lakshman Kadirgamar memorial lecture, he was expected to leave for New Delhi from Colombo on Nov 12.
