Sugar prices recover

Navi Mumbai, Nov 10 (UNI) On the first day of Vikram Samvat 2064, wholesale sugar prices today recovered on lesser stock supply.

Bombay Sugar Merchant Association President Ashok Kumar Jain said sugar prices showed wide fluctuation this year.

Prices of small grade and medium grades went up by Rs 6 and Rs 10 per quintal respectively owing to good demand from retailers.

Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grades (per quintal) also shot up by Rs five and Rs 10 respectively due to heavy demand from retailers, traders said.

Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,335/1,396, Medium grade: Rs 1,401/1,495.

Ex-mill mall grade: Rs 1,330/1,365, Medium grade: Rs 1,380/1,425.
