Property attachment order against nine policemen,ADG under scanner

Munger, Nov 10 (UNI) A local court today issued warrants to attach property of nine police personnel and also ordered for a thorough probe into the alleged involvement of the then District Police Superintendent Ramesh Chandra Kaushal in killing of a policeman in 1992.

Chief Judicial Magistrate(CJM) Keshri Nandan Gupta issued the property attachment warrants against the police personnel after they failed to appear before the court despite issuance of arrest warrants against them.

The CJM also ordered to inquire into the role of the then District Police Superintendent of Munger Ramesh Chandra Kaushal in the murder of a policeman Laxman Sharma, an office bearer of Bihar Policemen's Association, who was killed in a shootout during election of the association.

Mr Gupta observed that the allegation made by ASI Ramchandra Pandey in his statement before the court, on the role of Mr Gupta in killing of Mr Sharma, was not properly inquired during the 15-year investigation.

A copy of the court order had been sent to the state Director General of Police(DGP) and other concerned police officers. Mr Kaushal is prsently posted as Additional Director General(ADG) in Jharkhand.
