Bhubaneswar, Nov 10 (UNI) East Coast Railways (ECoR) General Manager Surendra Singh Khurana has asked for a concept plan to develop the passenger halts at Vani Vihar and Lingaraj Road stations as important satellite sub-urban stations.

Mr Khurana, who inspected both stations with senior ECoR officials on Thursday last, had accorded priority in providing high quality passenger amenities available at any modern station following growing importance of the two passengers halt.

ECoR sources said both Vani Vihar and Lingaraj Temple Halt will be serving as Satellite Stations to the main Bhubaneswar Station.

These two passenger halts had been improved with full length for stoppage of longest trains, improved waiting halls, Granite benches, pipe water supply, decongested circulating areas and facelift to both passenger halts. The illumination level had also been considerably improved.

Sources said the biggest works to be completed in the current financial year at passenger halts are Foot Over Bridge at Lingaraj Passenger Halt, Elevating Passenger Halt level from rail level to high level at Vani Vihar and extension of high level platform at Lingaraj Temple besides ATM counter at both the passenger halts.
