Talking to newspersons here, he demanded the Government to constitute an In-house Committee to inquire into the illegal regularisation of lands and submit a report within the stipulated time.
Mr Raghuvulu alleged that the Government was regularising the lands by using the loopholes in the Urban Land Ceiling Act. The Government had received only Rs 16 crore by regularising 62,350 sq yards in the prime area of Banjara hills in the city, which was worth Rs 600 crore in the open market, he added.
Though there was a rule in place not to regularise the lands above 1000 sq yards, the Government was violating the existing rules to benefit the influential people, the CPI(M) leader alleged. The Government regularised the lands belonging to 241 influential persons, he added.
He alleged that the Government was not even distributing 60 yards for the house sites to the poor people but illegally regularising the lands occupied by the rich people.
Mr Raghuvulu said his party would intensify the agitation on the illegal regularisation of lands and also for the house sites for the poor people in the State.
