Cavalry teams in final of Maharaja Hari Singh Memorial Polo

New Delhi, Nov 10 (UNI) Cavalry Red scored a clinical 7-4 victory over Elevation to set up a title clash with Cavalry Black in the Maharaja Hari Singh Memorial Cup Polo here today.

In another match, Cavalry Black beat Jaipur Polo Company (JPC) 13-6.

In the first match after a barren first chukker, Ubjara Andrade opened the account for Elevation while Vicky Nihalani made it 2-0.

Santiago De Estrada scored two goals in succession to restore parity while Vishal Singh took Cavalry Red into the lead at the end of the second chukker. The Reds scored two more goals with the help of Vishal Chauhan and Estrada. Satinder Garcha pulled one back for Elevation.

Vishal Singh then fired two goals on either side of the fourth and fifth chukker respectively to seal the issue for Cavalry Red.

In the second fixture, Cavalry Black who had a three-goal advantage from their earlier encounter, put the pressure on JPC right from the beginning when Tarun Sirohi and Santiago Cernada scored once each in the opening chukker. Manupal Godara scored a brace to level the scores.

However, Cernada ensured that the Cavalry Blacks went into the third chukker with a one-goal lead. Uday Kalaan and Godara scored once each to put their team in the lead which was nullified by Ravi Rathore (4-4).

In the fourth chukker Cavalry Black scored four more goals, Sirohi scored two while Navdeep and Cernada scored onc each to make it (8-4).

Cernada added two more goals to his kitty in the final chukker as Cavalry Black lead 10-4. Ransher Singh scored a couple of consolation goals for the losers.

The final is slated for tomorrow.
