Burglar involved in hundreds of cases held

New Delhi, Nov 10 (UNI) The Delhi Police today claimed to have arrested a criminal who is allegedly involved in hundreds cases of burglary and theft and had been evading arrest for the last seven years.

The police also claimed to have recovered jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh, a car, eight cellphones and 7 laptops from the possession of Subash (30).

A jeweller, Vijay Kumar Soni, has also been arrested for allegedly being a receiver of stolen jewellery.

During the last seven years, Rajan allegedly committed burglaries and thefts in various areas, including Malviya Nagar, Khirki area, Defency colony and Lodhi Colony, of the capital.

Earlier in 2005, his two accomplices were arrested and their interrogation led to the surfacing of the name of Subash, a school dropout.

Further investigations are on.
