Jodhpur to host international environment meet
Jodhpur, Nov 9 (UNI) Scientists from several countries, including India, Russia, China, Egypt, Israel, Iran, Zordan, Pakistan, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Bangla Desh will participate in the four-day international workshop on "Man and Biosphere" at the Central Arid Zone Research Institute(CAZRI) here from November 12.
The workshop will be organised under the aegis of the Environment and Forests Ministry to ensure implementation of UNESCO agenda on Man and Biosphere and conservation of ecology of arid zones, CAZRI Director Dr KPR Vithal said here today.
Issues on conservation of biosphere, impact of global warming on arid zones, conservation of cultural and biodiversities, effective and sustainable water harvesting management, prevention of desertification and strategy to address future needs food management and quality living conditions would be discussed at length, Mr Vithal said.
Union Minister of Environment and Forests Namo Narain Meena will inaugurate the workshop, he added.
