Driver, assistant driver of Chambal Express suspended
Allahabad, Nov 9 (UNI) Driver and assistant driver of Howrah-bound Chambal Express were today suspended, following yesterday's accident, where the train had hit the stationary Darbhanga-Pune Express at the station here.
Action against Vishnu Dayal and his assistant Tej Singh has been taken after they were found violating the Signal Safety Rules, sources said.
Further investigations into the case have been handed over to Central Railway Security (East) in charge R K Kardam.
The stationary Darbhanga-Pune Express was hit by the Chambal Express, when it was standing at the outer area of Allahabad station of Northern Central Railways (NCR).
As many as 50 passengers and guard of the Darbhanga-Pune Express had sustained injuries in the accident and were admitted to hospital.
The movement of several trains, which were affected on the rail route, however, resumed today.
