Bangalore, Nov 8 (UNI) Vishwa Hindu Parishad President Ashok Singhal today criticised strongly the Congress and its President Sonia Gandhi for their plan to implement the Ramasethu project.
Mr Singhal told reporters here today that Congress was only trying to please its President Ms Gandhi in implementing the project in an effort to destroy the cultural history of India.
Stating that India is an ancient nation with rich cultural history, he said that Ms Gandhi was indulging in anti-Hindu activities with taking up the project.
"Lord Rama is a historical figure and no one could deny it," he said.
Describing the implementation of Ramsethu project as a biggest religious issue of the country, he said that VHP would launch a month-long national yatra from November 20 to expose the hidden agenda of Congress.
"Congress was being slowly converted into another Muslim League of India, he said adding that while Ms Gandhi was protecting the American interests for providing an international connectivity between India and Sri Lanka.
He further said that it was already clear from the Nuclear deal, which was a biggest threat to the national security, he said.
