Manipur declared flu free state
Imphal, Nov 8 (UNI) Manipur can be declared a bird flu-free state, This information was given by Veterinary Director Th Dorendro who said the Centre had intimated that the state could be declared bird flu-free.
After the outbreak of the deadly Avian influenza in July, the union government had banned the sale of poultry products in Manipur and chickens within a five km radius of Chingmeirong, Imphal East, were culled.
Surveillance and post-operation measures had been taken up and samples of chicken sent to the High Security Animal Disease Laboratory, Bhopal.
