Patna, Nov 8 (UNI) Former member of Bihar Legislative Council and senior journalist Ram Vilas Jha passed away last night after protracted illness.
He was 79.
He breathed his last in a city hospital, family sources informed.
The last rituals would be performed here at Gangaghat today.
He was a freedom fighter, an eminent journalist, a social activist and a popular politician, who worked for the uplift of the poor and the down-trodden.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had expressed deep grief over the demise of Mr Jha and described his death as an irreparable loss to the world of journalism, politics and social activism.
